I’m continuing lessons at the School of Rock Broomfield location, this time joining the folk group. The choices were folk, pop punk/emo, or Guns N’ Roses vs. Mötley Crüe. The only one that aligned with both interests and my schedule (one was on a Sunday, which I won’t sacrifice) was folk, and that also happened to be the one whose director is also my vocal teacher.
So here’s my songs for 2026 that I need to start working on:
- Sister Golden Hair by America – I’ll sing the low harmony vocals while playing acoustic guitar
- Rocky Mountain High by John Denver – On this one I play bass, but also sing the low harmony
- New Kid In Town by The Eagles – low harmony
- Mrs. Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel – low vocals
- House of the Rising Sun (I assume The Animals version) – vocals
